Name My Bag

It is a common word for us to say the word "BAG" as if they are all the same with each other. We haven't notice that we've been abusing the word bag mostly as if it is the most plain or common thing we have or can't leave without in our everyday lives. Particularly with the ladies, we have so many different bags to choose from. We tend to use the word bag with our ordinary conversations like, “Look at that bag that it's so cute,” “I love your bag,” “I want that bag that is hanging inside the store,” and “Can you please get my bag?”

But if you try to think of it and you’re going to ask yourself, “What kind of bag is she trying to tell me to get for her?”, “What kind of bag is she wearing?” or “What kind of bag is on sale?” So we just go for a lucky hunch or try to remember the color and the size of that certain bag because we can't mention or sort what kind it is.

Most women tend to call anything that you can carry around and put your things inside, a bag. But you have to be knowledgeable about it if you’re an aspiring fashionista, like most of us. It is like crash course fashion 101 with bags. You have to learn that there are many different types and names for a certain bag. They also have different kinds of use as well so you can distinguish what type of bag you are referring and what you needed the most, so you can easily match it with your outfit without being out of place for the event that you’re in for the moment.

Here are the different types of bags on my list:

Tote Bag

It is a large two-handled open-topped bag. Tote Bags, “tote” meaning “to carry” is made of tough and well made cloth, the other version was made from leather and eventually they try to make it from synthetic leathers and put some zippers or other designed lock on top of it to make your things secured.

Shopping Tote Bag

Shopping tote bags are mostly made from recyclable materials it is also a booming trend these days and most shopping malls aim to be earth friendly so they recommend people to bring their own bags when they shop, in exchange with the traditional plastic bags.

Suitcase

A portable rectangular hard piece of luggage designed for travelling and carrying clothes, suitable for travelers who likes to escapade.

Duffle Bag or Athletic Bag

Duffle bag (or another term for it is called an athletic bag) is a large cylindrical spacious bag use for travelling outdoors or to carry sports equipment, they also call it sea bags because most sailor use this kind of bag. This bag is a very good company for your short trips out of town.

Backpack

A backpack, or knapsack, often mounted on a lightweight frame that is worn on a person’s back as to carry camping supplies, also popular with teens as there school bag.

Sling Bag / Satchel / Messenger Bag

Sling bag

Is a type of handbag with a long strap that is worn over one shoulder with its strap across the chest, resting below your lower back. Although it looks somewhat similar to messenger bags it is often much smaller and it is popular among the ladies.

Satchel

It is a rectangular leather bag a lot similar with a brief case. The only distinct feature is the long strap so you can hang it to your shoulder, in the past it is mostly used by children for carrying books to school. In urban dictionary it is called, a man purse, a bag for men to carry their items.

Messenger Bag

A lot like the Sling Bag but it is bigger and spacious, also called Carryalls or Courier Bag.

Bowling bag

A bag for carrying a bowling ball and often shoes or other equipment, but it is now used as a fashion statement bag it is like a dome shaped satchel perfect for girls always on the go.

Bucket Bag

Is somewhat similar in shape of a bucket because of its oval shape bottom and mostly it has a single strap that you can adjust to your comfort.

Hobo Bag

It is a big crescent shape shoulder bag made from soft leather or cloth, so it doesn’t stand on its own when you put it down. But a very good and functional accessory to hold your phone, wallets and make-up.

Laptop bag

From the word itself, used to carry portable laptops and other gadgets like tablets, nowadays laptop bags are highly conventional and fashionable with many latest design so it can fit with your outfit.

Belt Bag

A small bag maybe suspended around the waist or attached with your belt.

Bagguette Bag / Clutch bag / Wristlet / Minaudiere

Bagguette Bag or Hand Bag is a long and narrow bag visually similar to Baguette French bread, usually made from original leather or synthetic one.

Clutch Bag

A strapless hand carry bag to help you organize your money, phone and your keys.

Wristlet Bag

Unlike clutch bag, wristlet bags are meant to hold your bag with your wrist because of its perfect strap to hang around your hand. Perfect to bring in to parties so your bag won’t get lost.

Minaudiere

A small bedazzled or ornamental bag for women, design to carry it with one hand perfect partner with high class parties, long gowns and red carpet. The bag itself can be your only accessory along of course with your perfect dress and killer shoes.
